ARMSX3 1.5: a new RSX for PS3 on Android

New release · October 30, 2026, 01:25 MSK (October 29, 22:25 UTC)

The Android PS3 emulator has changed its graphics foundation: version 1.5 moved to a reworked RSX from RPCS3. Reading game commands, display handling, and rendering are now separate. ARMSX3’s own features, including frame generation and custom driver support, were carried over to the new core.

The practical point before updating: emulator states from 1.4.x are incompatible with 1.5. Make a normal in-game save and keep a copy. Losing an evening of progress for a fresh APK? Screw that upgrade. The redesign does not promise an FPS increase in every game.

DroidDeck 0.6.7 gathers games into one library

Release · October 29, 2026 · yesterday

DroidDeck brings games into a shared library with individual pages and large covers. Xbox Cloud Gaming can be launched from a game page; a Battle.net store has also been added. On dual-screen handhelds, menus and the keyboard can now be placed on the lower screen.

More interesting than another folder of shortcuts: the library becomes an entry point for local and cloud games. Streaming remains streaming—no installation is needed, but a suitable connection and access to the service are. A button is not a promise that every game will run on every device.

Wave Launcher 1.0.4: covers, fonts, and PSP in VR

Release · October 28, 2026 · 2 days ago

Wave added the iiDB artwork source and Console Sans and Console Square fonts, while PPSSPP VR joined the PSP and PSP Minis launch options. The library and covers remain visible while the list updates, and the launcher becomes usable earlier after startup.

For anyone polishing a handheld home screen to the point of “five more minutes of settings and I’ll definitely play,” there is plenty here. But PPSSPP VR is integration with a chosen emulator, not a transformation of every PSP game into a full VR port.

MustardOS Andromeda: Pickles, Wasabi, and new backups

Earlier release · October 26, 2026 · 4 days ago

Andromeda updates more than the interface. The built-in Pickles Libretro player gained network play, RetroAchievements, and save management; Wasabi handles music and video. For a small retro machine, that makes a full set of things to do on the road.

One practical detail: new backups use the .muxbak format and live in ARCHIVE. The team separately warns that backups from some October 7–16 test builds were incomplete. Create a fresh copy after setup: mustard belongs in the firmware name, not in the feeling after losing saves.

spruceOS 4.5.6 wakes folding Anbernic devices with the lid

Earlier release · October 26, 2026 · 4 days ago

spruceOS expanded device support and taught folding Anbernic XX models to wake when the lid opens. Emulator components and settings were updated: standalone Flycast and the Libretro core now share VMU saves.

This is the kind of update you notice with your hands: open the console, resume the game, and stop looking for where another launch hid the memory card. Installation requires an image for your model; a firmware family’s broad support does not make files interchangeable across devices.

ARMSX2 2.9: a new VU1 compiler for PS2

Earlier release · October 26, 2026 · 4 days ago

This is a separate PS2 project, not a version of the PS3 emulator in the first item. For the ARMSX2 anniversary, the team released 2.9 with a new VU1 compiler and the option to move the PS2 I/O processor to a separate thread. Supported GPU drivers are offered during initial setup.

The authors associate the new VU1 with faster demanding 3D games, but results depend on the game and device. Handheld owners can revisit a familiar trouble spot rather than assume their frame rate will double. Version 2.9 identifies this update, not a forever-latest release.

Little Master: a SNES tactical RPG becomes easier to understand

Earlier update · v1.1 October 25, 2026, 5 days ago; first release October 20; page updated October 29

In Little Master: Nijiiro no Maseki, players command a squad and recruit monsters that can be combined into stronger types. An English patch makes the Japanese tactical RPG playable from start to credits. The author revised the translation in version 1.1.

A good choice if favorite tactics games are already memorized and you want the same genre with a different cast of creatures. The patch requires your own clean Japanese copy. The fresh page date does not change the find’s age: the update is already five days old.

Super Robot Wars F Complete combines two campaigns

Development diary · October 27, 2026 · 3 days ago · no public release yet

The English Super Robot Wars F Final project’s author showed an experiment combining F and F Final into one PlayStation game. Claimed features include loading normal in-game saves from both parts and disabling battle animations.

For a long tactical series, the idea is lovely: less fuss between campaigns, more time with the robots. But the announcement does not create a download button for a finished build: the developer explicitly says there is no release date. Compatibility is claimed for normal saves, not emulator states.

God of War: Betrayal rebuilt for GBA

Earlier find · article published October 18, 2026 (12 days ago), updated October 28; exact build release date not stated

A fan project ports the mobile Java game God of War: Betrayal to Game Boy Advance. Its author describes a native GBA build with ten story stages and an arena, console-button controls, and an interface for a 240 × 160 screen.

Kratos on GBA is already enough reason to raise an eyebrow. This is an unofficial game port, not a translation or commercial Sony release. The article predates the selection window; its update falls within the last few days. The page has a description and screenshots; I have not personally played the port.

Street Fighter Zero 3 on Saturn tries English Alpha

Project update · October 26, 2026 · 4 days ago; base listing date October 15

Patch 3.0 turns the Japanese Saturn version into an English Street Fighter Alpha 3, using official text and graphics from other versions including PSP, NAOMI, and PlayStation. A separate variant also unlocks Shin Akuma and Final Bison.

In the October 26 update the author calls the version final unless new bugs are found, while the overall listing remains In-Progress. A useful qualification for patch collections: the version is available, and “final” is not magical protection from bugs. This updates an existing translation, not a new game.

AYN Odin 3 Portal opens pre-orders, not shipments

Earlier news · October 23, 2026 · 7 days ago · pre-order

Odin 3 Portal pre-orders opened October 23 European time; the lineup gained a configuration with 1 TB of storage. The launch announcement lists Base, Pro, and Max, with shipping expected to begin in November.

For anyone choosing a new Android handheld, concrete configurations can now be compared instead of teasers alone. But the expected November shipment remains the manufacturer’s plan. This is not an announcement that consoles have reached buyers; prices and discounts in the news should not be treated as permanent either.

Delta 2.0 goes beyond Nintendo

Earlier release · October 22, 2026 · 8 days ago; update overview October 25

Delta 2.0 added Sega Genesis, RetroAchievements, and support for the iPhone Duo folding screen. The familiar Nintendo library now sits alongside another major retro platform in one iPhone app.

If Mega Drive previously needed a separate launch setup, the update reduces switching. Achievements give familiar games a second round of challenges—“I’ve already finished it” quickly becomes “fine, one more run.” The release date is confirmed by the team’s October 22 announcement embedded in the article.

Tengai Makyō IV: an English America, still in beta

Earlier patch · October 22, 2026 · 8 days ago · v1.05 beta

A public English beta 1.05 is available for the Saturn RPG Tengai Makyō: The Apocalypse IV. Unlike the Japanese settings of earlier games, this entry travels to a fantasy America. The translation offers a look at one of the platform’s unusual RPGs.

Beta means something here: the overview lists eight voiced videos and about eighty lines still without subtitles. The project uses AI under human direction. This is a chance to explore the game with known limitations, not a promise of a fully proofread localization.

Terra Phantastica gets a separate English beta

Earlier patch · October 21, 2026 · 9 days ago · v1.1.2 beta

The tactical RPG Terra Phantastica has a public English beta 1.1.2 by Pzapzap using CODEC BABEL. It is a separate project and should not be confused with another translation being developed by the SegaXtreme community.

The beta description says battle cries, spell utterances, and voice clips from the sound test remain untranslated. Saturn tactics fans have something to explore, but should know the status and AI use before a long playthrough. SHIRO!’s roundup records the version and limitations; the original Romhacking listing returned 403 when checked.

Pocket Fighter — Mini Mix: small fighters, big translation

Earlier patch · October 21, 2026 · 9 days ago · version 1.0, status In-Progress

The Japanese Saturn game Pocket Fighter received the Mini Mix English patch. Its author uses official text from the arcade and PlayStation versions: victory lines, story dialogue, endings, and hints. Some unused English images already on the disc were restored too.

A pleasant story about assembling a localization from pieces that have been nearby all along. The description says the text is fully translated, but the project listing still says In-Progress. Version 1.0 is therefore no guarantee of a flawless experience—even if tiny Ryu looks convincing.
